I love this time of the year.

Spooky treats… Scary Pumpkins… Trick or Treating.

I’m definitely a Halloween fan.

But where I live, Thanksgiving, St Paddy’s Day, Halloween etc. are not even considered as Holidays. We have other fun days like Diwali and Holi but not Halloween! :-/ It would be considered extremely eccentric of me to go around wearing a witchy hat or carving pumpkins.

And so, I resort to making spooky treats like Salty Bone Breadsticks or Snake Sandwiches or Coffin Cakes – to make myelf feel like it’s Halloween! And noone complains. People eat with their eyes first. Give them something as cute as these Bone Breadsticks and they’re not gonna stop munching on these.. which really is okay considering how incredibly easy it is to make these!

Salty Bone Breadsticks Recipe

Start off with some bread / pizza dough. You can use homemade or store bought.

Roll it into an even shaped log and cut into bite size pieces (the size would depend on how thick/long you want your breadsticks to be)

Roll each piece into a ball. Place on the work surface and roll into a thin rope.

Use a knife to cut about half an inch from each side of the rope

This is what it should look like. (I kept this one too thick but made the others a bit thinner)

Take each “dangling” piece and roll the piece outward and stick to the rope on he outside. This will give a very “bone-y” look
