I made these cookies over a year ago! Sometime in 2014, actually. I found these pictures in my hard drive and memories came flooding back! These are gloriously tasty, easy to prepare and so much fun to eat!

Taking the concept from the basic thumbprint cookies, I stuffed a Hershey’s Kiss in the impression instead of Jam or something else. I didn’t expect it to work – honestly. I thought that the chocolate would melt while baking and become a mess. But to my delight, these cookies came out of the oven – smelling divine AND retaining their shapes.

The secret is to freeze the Hershey’s Kisses ahead of time. That way, they wouldn’t disintegrate and melt while baking. Moreover, when you remove the baking sheet out of the oven, have patience. Do not attack the cookies immediately. Give the Hershey’s Kisses a chance to set into the cookie impression. And when the cookies have cooled completely, you will have an amazing combination of Hershey’s Kisses and Vanilla Cookies.

Now – you have to admit – Hershey’s Kiss on a Cookie is wayyyy better than just a regular cookie!    (more…)

3 years ago, if you had told me there’d come a time when I’d be making butterscotch cookie bars at home, I’d have laughed at you. But here I am today, gloriously writing a recipe for the same. I have to thank this blog for my culinary experiments. These butterscotch flavored cookie bars are just so darn easy, that I wonder why it took me so long to discover the recipe. Brown Sugar is the miracle ingredient that makes these bars delicious!

This was the first time I tried (to bake AND eat) cookie bars and I was mildly surprised by how much I enjoyed these sweet treats. They are a cross between cookies and brownies. They taste like those classic, somewhat soft, somewhat chewy cookies. The great thing about these bars is that – unlike cookies – you don’t have to roll them out and make individual cookies. You dump the entire dough in a pan, bake and then slice into bars.

Use the basic dough to spruce up your own cookie bars. I like to add marshmallows, chocolates, nuts and even crushed graham crackers for texture and flavor. You can do whatever you like! Make this your own.

As usual, the year flew by and I didn’t even realize how soon 2016 came knocking on my door. I’m quite emotional as I write the first post of 2016.

2015 was rough. Don’t get me wrong. There were quite a few wins – personally and professionally. And I am incredibly grateful for that. However, it has definitely not been a smooth sail. 2015 was rife with uncertainties, chronic fevers, stress and multiple situations that I like to describe as bubbles-being-burst. But I’m not one to dwell on the past. Every bit of the journey has been worthwhile. I am glad to have not lost my mojo, and I’m excited to get a fresh start.

Yes. 2016 – for this blog – will be year of loads of fantastic (and easy!) recipes. And I’m starting off the year of fantastic food with these decadent Ferrero Rocher Cupcakes.  (more…)
