Hershey’s Kisses have got to be the cutest candies ever invented. Not only do they taste amazing (I mean, hello? That burst of chocolate in your mouth? Yauza!), but they also effortlessly add a certain cuteness to an dessert they are a part of. For lazy people like me, this is great because we don’t have to spend hours stressing over dessert-decorations!

Inspired from these intensely-chocolaty candies, I decided to make some cupcakes that will knock your socks off! With a basic chocolate cupcake base, I take it up a notch by stuffing each cupcake with a Hershey’s kiss. And then I frost them with an amazing frosting I discovered accidentally. Yep – have you tried combining buttercream and marshmallows and chocolate? You’ve got to do it right now – if you haven’t already!

The best part is that you really don’t need to stress yourself too much. You’re going to enjoy making these cupcakes – just as much as you’re going to enjoy devouring them!    (more…)

A little fun factFoodomania went live on this very day, THREE years ago.

I’ve been living this amazing life for three years now. sparkle in my eyes (just for the dramatic effect! 😀 ) The thing about undiscovered passion is that you keep fidgeting around, until you find your mojo. Sometimes, I wonder if I will ever tire of chocolate. My love for chocolate and the giddiness it causes me is real. And I ain’t ashamed to admit it. My face lights up when I see / eat / smell chocolate. Too embarrassing? Probably.

But the truth is – chocolate makes my soul sing. And the more I get to work with chocolate, the chirpier and happier I get. So here’s another late-night baking experiment done right.

Rocky Road Cupcakes.

Chocolate, Nuts and Marshmallows come together in a simple eggless chocolate cupcake base. The texture rendered by roasted marshmallows, crunchy nuts and tempered chocolate is what makes this cupcake “rocky”. And hence the name – “rocky road”.

Sometimes, the best dishes emerge from an immediate need to use up leftovers. This Leftover Buttercream Cake is one such discovery.

Buttercream is possibly the most commonly used + loved frosting for cakes and cupcakes. The first time I made buttercream, I was stunned by the sheer deliciousness or something so simple. Butter + Sugar = Buttercream. Simple enough right? Who would have thought two of the most commonly used ingredients in baking would jazz up baked desserts by a thousand notches?!

Buttercream is something I’m making more and more these days. Its just so easy and inexpensive and fancy, you know. However, I always find myself with a little bit of leftover buttercream every single time. No matter how precise or stingy I get, I always end up with leftovers once I’m done frosting all my cupcakes / cakes.
