    Oh, how pretty are these red velvet whoopie pies??

    A visual delight, divinely tasty, sinful, creamy, soft and above all – as simple as a recipe can be! I do a lot of chocolate desserts.. so much so that I am starting to feel like I’ve run out of ideas for chocolate cake recipes! (i hope not). When my friend expressed her dislike for chocolate (seriously, how?!) and fondness for red velvet, I decided to whip up these cute little red velvet whoopie pies for her.    (more…)

    Vada Pav. The name alone is enough to bring a smile on every Mumbaikar’s face.  I have fond memories of eating this delicious and filling snack almost every day during college. Vada Pav and Pani Puri were solely responsible for my brush with obesity in my late teens and early 20s. I’m healthier now, it’s all good. But my love for this snack still continues with an intensity like never before. I was delighted to recreate one of my favorite fast foods at home!

    Paruppu podi is a spicy lentil-based chutney powder eaten with hot rice and a hint of ghee. Paruppu literally translates to lentil and Podi is powder. Blends like this, Curry Leaves Powder and Milagai Podi come in handy when you are pressed for time or are in no mood to cook. All you have to do is cook some rice / reheat leftover rice, add a dash of Ghee (optional) and as much or as little of this chutney powder, mix and eat!
