A quick look into the history of recipes on Foodomania reveals at least 50% of them to be dessert recipes. And here I am – adding this nutella pancakes recipe to my awesome dessert collection. I sometimes feel like I seriously need to stop enticing you guys with recipes for your sweet tooth. Haven’t you had enough? But as it turns out, there can never be such as thing as “too-many-sweets”. The good news is – we are all old enough to exercise self-control (aren’t we? 😀 ). First things first: Swirls add a pinch of happiness to the food. Am I right or what? 😀 I’m a big believer in spending little time cooking and as much time eating. But I do like a little zing in my food. I mean, how often can you eat the same bread over and over again? I am a carbaholic and I love bread. But a little twist every now and then makes eating bread a much more fun experience. And making swirl rolls are just so darn easy, that I often forego a pizza or a tortilla for these babies.

Sorry to have called these pesto swirl rolls babies. But these are adorable looking and just a pleasure to devour! Serve them with my super healthy barley vegetable soup for a complete meal.

If you’re like me, you probably stock some pizza dough in your freezer at all times. If you don’t, well a) WHY AREN’T YOU? and b) It doesn’t take much time to make the dough from scratch either. Sometimes, I just want to quit my job, go some place quiet, and spend the rest of my life reading from my Kindle and eating coconut mousse.

This coconut mousse just transported me to that alternate universe. Good food does that to you sometimes, doesn’t it? 🙂

Coconut is one of those amazing fruits that not only tastes amazing in savory dishes like rice, chutneys etc., but also makes up for a fantastic ingredient to work with in desserts. The subtle burst of flavor in every bite of this mousse will leave you craving for more! As delicious as my airy chocolate mousse (both kinds!) is, I’m always game for trying new flavors. After successfully extrapolating the technique into making scrumptious strawberry and butterscotch mousse(s), I now use a similar method to make this easy coconut mousse. And what’s even cooler is that you could totally use vegan whipped cream, raw sugar and make a vegan dessert – if you so wish.   (more…)

I made these granola bites about 2 months ago. Everyday since then, I’ve been eating one of these to satisfy my sweet tooth and my 4 pm-hunger.

You know, it is that time of the day when you feel like you’ve just got to reach out for a burger or order a plate of fries…. I’ve successfully resisted doing that for the past couple months… all thanks to these hunger-squashing super power nuggets! It did take a while for me to get used to this change in the menu. A granola bite is after all NOT a slice of pizza. For picky eaters, this may not be love at first sight. But stay with it, one bite at a time. It’ll grow on you.

As an unexpected yet welcome side effect of this ritual, I now see that my skin and hair have really started to improve! The omega-3 rich flax seeds and protein rich everything else have definitely contributed in a big way to my health! And now you can do this for yourself too! 🙂
