This keerai kootu features in our meals at least once a week. With all the health benefits spinach boasts of, and the fact that none of us really like eating green leafy vegetables raw, it seemed a good idea to make a simple dish that goes well with another one of our staples – rice!

Today, I’m sharing the classic Italian spicy arrabbiata sauce recipe. Spicy, delicious and ideal with spaghetti or penne, this is an all-purpose sauce that takes 30 minutes (tops) to put together.

Arrabbiata literally means “angry” in Italian. The name of the sauce refers to the spiciness of the chili peppers. The more you add, the spicier your sauce will become (duh). It works well as a dipping sauce too.   (more…)
