But then again, how can I not love myself when I make the world’s best Garlic Chilli Rolls?

Okay, I’ll try to tone it down.

I like to bake spicy treats for my mom. She isn’t so much a fan of cakes as she is of spicy breads.

Her demands sound like this … “K, I’m bored make something tasty for me and make it NOW“.

Who is the mom in this house, I know not. :P

Okay, that’s stretching the truth a bit too much. She’s a very disciplined lady who rises at 5, finishes cooking and cleaning for the entire day before 8 am.

I’m often told to “learn” kitchen ethics from my mom. And to an extent,  I think I’m a much cleaner cook today than I was last year!

So when she has cravings, it is my responsibility to whip up something spicy and tasty. ;)

Having my all purpose pizza dough at all times just makes my job a lot more easier. These rolls took about 1 hour from start to finish. And most of the time involved the resting-rising-baking part. Labor is almost zero!

GARLIC CHILLI ROLLS RECIPE

You’ll need (besides dough)-
Garlic Chilli Rolls Recipe

Start of with thawed pizza dough. Pinch of equal sizes portions of the dough and roll into a neat ball. You can also stuff a cube of dry mozarella cheese in the center if you want

Place in a muffin pan (or on a baking sheet at a distance of 1/2 an inch from each other)

Close and let it rise in warm spot for about 20 minutes.

Melt butter and add minced garlic & chilli to it. Preheat oven to 200 C / 375 F

Brush the top of each roll with the garlic chilli butter. Stick a few chillis on top.

Bake at 200 C for 15-18 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.

As soon as they are out of the oven, you can brush some melted butter if you want.

Serve hot with ketchup or favorite condiment.

Serves: 6 mini rolls
Ingredients
  • ½ lb / 8 oz pizza dough
  • ¼ cup Melted butter
  • ¼ cup Minced Garlic
  • 3-4 Green Chilli, finely chopped (or 2-3 teaspoons red chilli flakes)
  • a few cubes dry Mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
  1. Start of with thawed pizza dough. Pinch of equal sizes portions of the dough and roll into a neat ball. You can also stuff a cube of dry mozzarella cheese in the center if you want
  2. Place in a muffin pan (or on a baking sheet at a distance of ½ an inch from each other)
  3. Close and let it rise in warm spot for about 20 minutes.
  4. Melt butter and add minced garlic & chilli to it. Preheat oven to 220 C / 400 F
  5. Brush the top of each roll with the garlic chilli butter. Stick a few chillis on top.
  6. Bake at 220 C for 15-18 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
  7. As soon as they are out of the oven, you can brush some melted butter if you want.
  8. Serve hot with ketchup or favorite condiment.
Notes
  1. For quicker rising, cover and place the rolls in a warm oven
  2. If using convection oven bake only at 180 C or 200 C for a longer time
