3 Seed Rice
- Sesame. (essential fats)
- Flax. (omega 3 & 6)

The rice is really simple. You can make it on days when you have elaborate stews but don’t wanna eat plain rice. Or if you crave Jeera Rice, why not make this instead and amplify your nutritional intake?
3 Seed Rice – The RECIPE
Soak rice in warm water for 15 minutes and drain. This helps rice cook faster.
Heat oil. Add cinnamon, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom & grated nutmeg. Fry for a minute until an aroma comes off the whole spices.
Add green chilli, minced garlic and fry for a minute.
Add all the 3 seeds – sesame, cumin & flax seeds
Mix well & sauté for 1 minute.
Add the rice and mix well.
Add water and mix well.
Add salt to taste.
Let that come to a boil.
Close with a lid, reduce to a simmer & cook for 15-20 minutes or until rice is well cooked.
Fluff up with 2 forks to distribute seeds evenly.
Serve hot with any spicy side dish.

- 1 cup Basmati Rice (any long grain aromatic rice)
- 1 TBsp Sesame Seeds (til)
- 1 TBsp Flax Seeds (alsi)
- 1 TBsp Cumin Seeds (jeera)
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 inch Cinnamon stick
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Cardamom pods
- Nutmeg (to grate)
- 2 Green Chilli, slit lengthwise
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 TBsp Salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 TBsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 3/4 cup Water (adjust according to type of rice you’re using)
