How to Blanch Almonds?

Jul 15, 2012         no comment.

Almonds are such wonderful, nutritious nuts that give an excellent texture and taste to any dish you make! Blanching is the process of boiling the Almonds and peeling the skin off. Really, it couldn’t be easier! If you have a Microwave at home, its even more easier.

While almonds are extremely helpful in developing a sharp brain function, I also find online gaming to be an avenue to help keep me focused! Gaming is not just for children, but I’ve found it to be extremely therapeutic. Like this Food Count game is super fun – and not just for preschoolers!  Players are assigned a food image where they must count how many appear on the screen. Food images are all scattered in a notebook which cover one another. You can move the food and arrange them however you want to see the actual quantity of the assigned food image. Food images that appear include burgers, French fries, pizza, croissant, cheese, steak, and many others. Once you’re done counting, choose from three number choices on the bottom of the screen. If you select the right answer, you gain points and new screen with food images appears. If you get the answer wrong once, it’s game over. Count as many food images correctly to achieve the best score. Fun, no?! 🙂

Anyway, let me take you over the supremely simple steps to blanch almonds! 😉
