Chocolate Decorations

I thought this would be the perfect time to post an easy tutorial on how to make different shapes of Chocolate Decorations to adorn your desserts. You don’t need any tempering skills. Just chocolate, piping bag and creativity! 🙂
You’ll need a parchment paper. And some designs you wanna make. You could draw it yourself on a piece of paper. Or just print out t he many many designs available on the internet. It really depends on what shape & size of the decoration you want on your dessert. Here’s an idea –
Melt Chocolate in the Microwave or using the double boiler method. Make sure there are no lumps. It has to be smooth & glossy.
Pour it into a Zip lock bag or a piping bag. Snip a tiny bit at the end of the bag.
Place your decoration under the parchment paper and get drawing with the piping bag.
You don’t even need a sketch. If you can, just go with the flow and make whatever design you like! 🙂 Its a lot of fun!
Here are some crazy free hand designs I did.
Let it harden at room temperature for 10 minutes. If possible transfer it to a fridge for a further 5 minutes.
Once the chocolate hardens, you will be able to pull the parchment paper away from the decoration. Be VERY gentle.
Carefully remove all the decorations.
Store in the refrigeration until use. 🙂
That’s about it. You’ll have to be careful with the chocolate. It tends to harden quickly. You have to be very quick in piping out the decorations. It’ll be messy at first. But I’m sure you’ll be able to do it 🙂
Not sure what kind of chocolate to use
The one you’d use for melting
