  • 1/4 cup Sabudana, soaked for a minimum of 4 hours (or best to do it overnight)
  • 1 cup Oatmeal
  • 1 small Boiled Potato
  • 1/2 cup Groundnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 teaspoons Salt (adjust to taste)
  • 4 Green Chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 sprig of Coriander leaves
  • 1 Tablespoons Fortune Rice Bran Oil

  • If you don’t have oatmeal, buy quick cooking oats, dry roast it for 4-5 minutes and grind in a mixer until you have a coarse mixture.

  1. Wash the Sabudana well to get rid of most of the starch. Soak the sabudana in water for at least 4-5 hours until they have plumped up. You can do this overnight too. Get rid of all the water.
  2. Coarsely grind the groundnuts (or crush them with a mortar and pestle)
  3. In a mixing bowl, add all ingredients except the oil. Mix together well to form a thick mixture. Taste and adjust for salt, if required.
  4. Divide the mixture into 8 medium or 16 small parts. Roll each part into a neat ball and flatten slightly to form patties.
  5. Heat 1 Tablespoon of oil on a pan. Let it spread out well. Add 4-5 patties to the hot pan. Let them cook on one side for 4-5 minutes on medium heat. Do not turn at this point. Once the edges start to turn golden brown, they will release easily. Flip and continue to cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  6. Remove on a tissue paper. Serve hot with condiments of your choice.
