Oreo Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar (adjust according to taste)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (more or less depending upon how dark you want your brownies to be)
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 5 TBsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 TBsp Chopped Chocolate / chocolate chips (optional)
  • 69 Oreo Cream Biscuits

8 or 9 inch square baking tin


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 150C / 300 F
  2. Grease and line an 8 or 9 inch square baking tin
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients – flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pass it through a sieve
  4. Add the yogurt and oil and mix to form a smooth batter of pouring consistency. If it is too thick, loosen with a spoon of milk or water
  5. Fold the chopped chocolate into the batter. – optional
  6. To the baking tin, add half of the batter. Tap the tin on a flat surface to spread it evenly.
  7. Place the Oreo cookies on top of the batter in a row. (you can do a 3X3 or 3X2)
  8. Pour remaining batter on top of the Oreo cookies, tap for it to spread evenly.
  9. Crush some more Oreo cookies and sprinkle on the top
  10. Bake at 150 C for 30 minutes or until the brownies are done. (To tell if they are done, insert a toothpick or dry piece of spaghetti into the center. If it comes out clean without leaving wet batter, it is done)
  11. Let it cool for 10 minutes, remove it and sprinkle the top with powdered sugar if you want.
  12. Slice & serve
