Spaghetti with Tomato Cream Sauce

Feb 28, 2013         no comment.

I need to make a horrific confession.

I dislike Pasta.  {{ Read: Dislike, not “hate” }}

I’m not a fan of creamy Pastas. But my brother is. So are a lot many people that I know. Hence, I bring you a really simple Pasta dish with a quick tomato cream sauce.

I like my Pasta to be anything but creamy. If you’re like me, you should skip the “cream” in the recipe and proceed with the rest. You’ll have a spicy, delicious Tomato Marinara. However, if you love a bit of ‘oomph’ in your sauce, go ahead and add the cream.

Spaghetti with Tomato Cream Sauce – THE RECIPE

Add Spaghetti to boiling water along with a generous sprinkling of salt.

Cook for 8-10 minutes or as per package instructions and set aside.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan with high sides. Add onion & garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes until the onions are translucent.

Add tomato puree / canned tomatoes and mix well. Let that boil for 4-5 minutes.

Add the spices – parsley, oregano, ground black pepper & salt. Mix well.

Let that boil for another 5-8 minutes until the sauce reduces completely. In the mean time, your pasta should be ready too.

Switch off the flame. Add cream and some butter to the sauce.

Give it a gentle but good mix. – And THAT is  your easy 10 minute tomato cream sauce!

Add the cooked Spaghetti (or any pasta)

Give it a good mix & serve warm.
